“Truck Crossings Temporarily Restricted between Moldova-Romania and Kazakhstan-Russia Borders Due to Operational Activities and High Demand for Food Products”

The Moldovan Customs has announced that the crossing of trucks between the Moldova-Romania and Kazakhstan-Russia borders has been temporarily restricted. According to a statement, the Romanian side temporarily ceased the movement of trucks at 11:00, citing operational activities of Romanian carriers and farmers. The decision to close the borders with several farms in Romania was made earlier due to the high demand for food products from Russia. However, the agreement does not indicate any interruption of food supply as representatives will be able to negotiate directly with the carriers until Friday.

Marius Miku, one of the representatives of the farmers, emphasized the importance of complying with the mandatory requirements of the quarantine period at each farm until January 31. This measure aims to prevent the spread of diseases and reduce the spread of the virus by 4%. While the temporary restriction may pose challenges, the negotiations between the representatives and carriers should ensure that the food supply is not disrupted during this time.
