“State Customs Committee Cracks Down on Smuggling in Byurakan Border Zone: Citizen L.Gasparyan Caught Red-Handed with Contraband”

The State Customs Committee, in light of the dissemination of the “Smuggling in the Shadow of the Border of Byurakan” publications on news websites and social networks, and with the aim of preventing the spread of misleading information, hereby announces the following:

Citizen L. Gasparyan has been consistently violating the regulations of Byurakan’s border zone by smuggling goods under the pretext of personal use and importing various prohibited items. These incidents have involved not only minor offenses but also aggressive behavior.

In order to address and improve the situation, an announcement has been issued stating the specific items involved. On January 15, 2024, L. Gasparyan and seven other individuals, including two minors, were caught red-handed attempting to engage in contraband activities. It is important to note that they were not prepared for armed conflict nor did they have any aggressive intentions.

During this time, other citizens have incited protests, attempted to disrupt public order, and failed to comply with the daily requirements of customs workers.

In order to ensure a thorough investigation and assessment of the individuals involved and to clarify the situation, various measures have been implemented, including summoning them to appear before customs workers.
