Yerevan Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan recently addressed concerns raised by Hovsep Kubatyan, a member of the “National Progress” group, regarding the construction of the 4th section of the Circular Park. In his statement on Facebook, Avinyan acknowledged that he was not fully aware of the specifics of the construction plans for this section, but he has been following the discussions and analyses surrounding it. Avinyan emphasized the importance of transparency in the decision-making process and expressed the desire to avoid any political divisions. He also referred to concerns about the ongoing construction of the AYB school, which is being carried out using a similar approach as the Merkelyan Park project.

When questioned about the government’s involvement in the project, the author mentioned that the government had indeed proposed it and it had been approved through a newly established company. This setup was considered more favorable and convenient compared to creating a completely new company. However, Avinyan couldn’t confirm the details related to the bank’s independent directorship, investments, and other factors that may be relevant to the discussion.
