Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Visits “Mkhitar Sebastatsi” School to Assess Student Research Projects and Emphasizes the Importance of Research in Education

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the “Mkhitar Sebastatsi” educational complex in Yerevan to investigate student protection measures at the school. The state criteria for general education have determined the school’s research project, which follows the educational program’s plan. The protection of students’ research work for the academic year 2023-2024 began in January 2024 and will continue until the end of the academic year, with weekly team assessments based on student readiness.

Today, the second group of students presented their research work. Prime Minister Pashinyan reviewed the 10th class taught by David Muradyan and evaluated the protection of their work. David’s research focused on “Non-formal participation in political activity”. He also shared his findings with fellow students.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction and highlighted the significance of such research work. According to Pashinyan, incorporating research into the educational process is now a mandatory requirement. He emphasized the close connection between research and education and the value it brings. Pashinyan also questioned why there is surprise and discussion over decisions when implementation should be observed, improved, and modified if necessary. This highlights the need for proactive engagement with schools to address unexpected issues and encourage productive conversations.
