According to data from the “Health in Russia-2023” conference, there has been a concerning increase in alcohol-related deaths among drivers in Russia over the past decade. The Komersant newspaper reports that in 2022, the number of newly identified patients with alcohol dependence rose to 54.2 thousand, with 12.9 thousand of them suffering from alcohol hallucinosis. This marks the first time that this indicator has shown an increase since it had been steadily decreasing up until 2021 when it stood at 53.3 thousand people.
