“Double Inspections of Major Shopping Centers to Ensure Public Safety: Operations at Risk if Requirements Not Met”

All major shopping centers will undergo double inspections this month, and if they fail to meet the requirements for technical and fire safety, their operations will be suspended, posing a risk to public health. This announcement was made by Garik Khachatryan, the Chief of the Department of Urban Development, Technical, and Fire Safety Inspection, during a meeting with reporters on January 15.

Khachatryan revealed that in 2023, more than 1,200 inspections have been carried out across the country regarding technical and fire safety. These inspections have resulted in the discovery of over 4,000 violations, with over 800 of them being identified in stores.

Compared to 2022, the number of violations detected in 2023 has reduced by 50%. During the previous year, a staggering 8,000 violations were found. Khachatryan also shared that 110 car service stations have had their operations suspended during 2023, with 35 of them being sealed in the ongoing process.

It’s crucial to prioritize the safety of shopping centers and their patrons, and these double inspections aim to ensure that all necessary technical and fire safety requirements are met. Taking action against violations detected during these inspections will help to provide a safer shopping environment for the public.
