“Road Closures and Hazardous Conditions: Navigating Through Armenia’s Winter Challenges”

Emergency services in the Republic of Armenia have reported that certain roads are currently closed and difficult to navigate. The M-6 major highway is undergoing repair work and is expected to remain closed for buses and trucks with or without trailers until February 15. A detour through the city of Noyemberyan has been set up. In addition to this, the roads leading to the “Amberd” high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn province and the road from Lake Qari to Jermuk Waterfall have also been closed. In Syunik province, the roads in the Saryan-“Zangar” area and in the city of Vardenis are covered in ice. Additionally, there is currently fog in the Vardenyats Pass. The Stepanakert-Lar’s highway is closed for trucks, according to information from the Emergency Situations Ministry of the Republic of Armenia and the South Caucasian Department of the Russian Federation’s North Caucasus District. It is crucial for drivers to exercise caution when driving in snowy conditions.
