A victim of violence and abuse in Yerevan, Armenia has recently been diagnosed with eye injuries, scalp abrasions, and facial bruises, according to the spokesperson of the mayor’s office, Hayk Konstantinyan.

Upon seeking urgent medical assistance from the doctor of the “Emergency Assistance” NGO of the Yerevan municipality, it was discovered that the 41-year-old resident of the Ajapnyak administrative district had been receiving medical attention since the beginning of this month (March 1-03).

Earlier today, an ambulance was called to the victim’s address. The patient requested to be administered tramadol, but the doctor refused, suggesting an alternative medication with similar effects. The patient then became aggressive, causing a disturbance and demanding the preferred medication through another call. As a result, three individuals were involved, who had previously received a threatening call to forcibly administer the tramadol. During the altercation, the victim sustained injuries to the eye, scalp, and face from the violence and abuse.

It is important to note that the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia, Anahit Avanesyan, has been actively following the case since it was reported. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
