“Russian-Armenian Relations Hit a New Low as CSTO Representative Attends Controversial UN Event in Switzerland”

The “Press” newspaper reports that despite the recent visit to Sankt Peterburg, Russian President Nikol Pashinyan has decided to hold a closed meeting with the CSTO representatives. He stated that the relations with Russia have significantly deteriorated and there is a need to find a mutually beneficial solution to avoid further escalation of the situation. However, it was announced yesterday that the High Representative for Security of the CSTO, Armen Grigoryan, will be visiting Switzerland on January 14 to participate in the 4th meeting of the “War game” organized by the UN. This raised curiosity among CSTO members as the event does not involve Armenia itself, leading to concerns about Russia’s dissatisfaction.

It is worth remembering that Armen Grigoryan had previously participated in the 3rd competition dedicated to the celebration of security recognition in Ukraine. This competition took place in Malta at the end of October. During this event, he met with the Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian President. However, the Russian Foreign Ministry evaluated Armen Grigoryan’s participation and visit to Ukraine as a “demonstrative anti-Russian gesture.”
