Armenia’s External Political System Takes Center Stage: Prime Minister Mirzoyan’s Strategic Visits Announced

Armenia’s external political system continues to make its mark on the global stage. The RA National Security Council recently summarized the activities carried out in 2023, highlighting Prime Minister Mirzoyan’s significant visits to Egypt, Syria, the Arab League, and Bahrain. In a historic moment, the Prime Minister participated in the League of Arab States’ Meeting of Foreign Ministers, representing Armenia at the prime ministerial level.

One of the notable visits was Prime Minister Mirzoyan’s trip to Syria, where he visited Damascus and Aleppo on February 6th. This visit held great significance as it occurred right after a recent ceasefire, and the Prime Minister delivered much-needed humanitarian assistance on behalf of the Armenian government.

During these diplomatic endeavors, several bilateral agreements were signed. One significant document pertains to the simplification of the visa regime for citizens between Armenia and the Arab League of Arab Nations. This agreement is set to take effect on February 1st, facilitating easier travel between the two regions.

In addition to these engagements, Prime Minister Mirzoyan also met with leaders from Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Furthermore, he held crucial meetings with heads of the League of Arab States and the Cooperation Council of the Gulf States, fostering important collaborations and alliances.

With a focus on scientific cooperation, Armenia has established a partnership with Saudi Arabia. This collaboration holds promise for both countries, allowing for the exchange of knowledge and expertise in various scientific fields.

Throughout the year, Armenia has also engaged in political consultations with Oman and Tunisia. These consultations, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Vahagn Kostenyan, have been crucial in strengthening diplomatic ties and fostering mutual understanding.

As Armenia’s external political system continues to evolve, the country’s presence and influence on the global stage are becoming increasingly significant. Prime Minister Mirzoyan’s diplomatic endeavors and strategic partnerships are shaping Armenia’s position in the international community, promoting cooperation, and fostering mutual understanding.
