“Azerbaijan Sends Fourth Batch of Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine Including Electrical Equipment Worth $7.6 Million”

On Friday, Azerbaijan demonstrated its solidarity with Ukraine by sending a generous humanitarian aid package, primarily consisting of crucial electrical equipment. The shipment, weighing a total of 25 tons, was dispatched from Sumgayit’s Technological Park, as reported by Interfax-Azerbaijan. This much-needed assistance comprises an impressive quantity of over 677,000 meters of electrical cables and wires, along with 22 sophisticated transformer stations, as confirmed by the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan.

The entire aid package, amounting to a remarkable value of $7.6 million, was meticulously prepared in direct response to Ukraine’s urgent requests for assistance. This marks the fourth delivery of humanitarian aid to the country, with the previous batches dispatched on October 30, November 21, and December 8, respectively.

Back in July 2023, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, made a significant decision to allocate $7.6 million from the state budget for the purpose of extending humanitarian support to Ukraine. This decision falls within the framework of the commendable Humanitarian Assistance to Ukraine program, initiated by Azerbaijan. The allocated funds were specifically designated to cover the procurement of essential electrical equipment, as well as its secure transportation from Azerbaijan to Ukraine.
