“Yerevan City Council’s “Voice of the Nation” Initiative Gains Official Confirmation, Launches Recall Option for Elected Officials”

The “Voice of the Nation” initiative, led by Hayk Marutyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council, has recently received official confirmation. This confirms its legitimacy and the potential to recall elected officials. In a Facebook post, Marutyan, who is also the leader of the “National Revival” group in Yerevan and a former mayor, stated that team members of the “Voice of the Nation” had been working in support of the ruling party after the elections, but are now accusing each other. Marutyan emphasized that this internal political battle does not concern the public, and reiterated their objective and fair decision after the elections. According to Armenian tradition, the lifespan of a government and political contracts is traditionally 40 days.
