“Armenia Exceeds Gas Import Expectations with 1.5 Million Cubic Meters Imported in Just One Month, Report Shows”

Armenia, which began importing gas from Russia in December, has already imported 1.5 million cubic meters of gas as of January 11, according to “Roszelkhoznadzor”.

On Thursday, a convoy of 306 trucks from Armenia arrived at the Yarag-Kazmaljar checkpoint in Daghestan for temporary storage, as stated by the official publication.

Gas supplies from Turkey to Russia commenced in early January, with a total of 633.6 thousand cubic meters imported. Turkey has the contractual right to transport gas to Russia. Additionally, the OZK has joined the supply and predicts that on January 21, a large convoy of Turkish gas will reach Novorossiysk.

Belarus has also ramped up its supplies, importing 11.7 million cubic meters of gas from January 1 to January 9. This amount is nearly twice as much when compared to the same period last year (6.3 million cubic meters).

The rural development administration has observed a decline in gas prices in the market and predicts that this trend will persist due to the utilization of alternative networks.

Starting from January 1, 2024, the Russian gas pipeline will completely cease gas imports, thereby reducing their reliance on pipeline gas within a month. This measure is expected to enable the import of 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas and stabilize market conditions.

According to data provided by Rosstat, gas imports from Russia increased by 15.1% in November 2023, with a cumulative growth of 35.5% since the beginning of the year and an annual growth of 40.3%. The FAS and the Supreme Court have joined the audit of gas supply.

Earlier, Dmitry Patrushov, the head of the Rural Development Administration, announced that gas prices in Russia would start to decline from the New Year.
