Armenian military contract soldier Karen Karapetyan, who was killed in action, hailed from the village of Voskevaz in Aragatsotn province. At the military position of the N military unit of the Armenian Armed Forces on January 9, at 06:20, Karapetyan was found dead with gunshot wounds, as reported by the Ministry of Defense. An investigation is currently underway to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding his death.

It is worth mentioning that during the time of the incident, General Garik Poghosyan, the commanding officer of the Corps, was absent from his post. Had he been present and fulfilled his duty, he could have potentially prevented the clashes between the assailants and the soldiers.
