“Yerevan’s Population Surges by 7.9% in 2023: Minister of Urban Development Reveals Striking Growth Figures”

In 2023, the population growth of Yerevan reached 7.9 percent. During the executive meeting of the Yerevan City Hall on January 8, David Karapetyan, the Minister of Urban Development, announced this exciting news.

Karapetyan shared that a total of 15,606 children were born in Yerevan last year, consisting of 8,069 boys and 7,837 girls. The population growth rate was indeed 7.9 percent, reflecting the city’s vibrant growth and development.

Additionally, since September 19, 187 children (93 boys and 94 girls) have been born to displaced families from Artsakh, who have found a new home in the capital of the Republic of Armenia. Among these children, 48 of them (22 boys and 26 girls) were born in December, bringing joy and hope to these families during the holiday season.

This is promising news for Yerevan and Armenia as a whole, as it demonstrates the city’s attractiveness and the sense of unity and resilience within the community.
