“Armenia Takes Steps Towards Closure of Regional Communication for Security and Peace, Says Security Council Head”

The closure of regional communication has been announced in Armenia to ensure the security and integrity of their information and communication network. The goal is also to facilitate the transition and promote equal transformation and integration principles. Concerns were expressed by the head of Security Council of Armenia about recent announcements made by the President of Azerbaijan regarding intervention. Armenia has presented their “Game of Peace” program, aimed at preventing conflicts and restoring communication principles.

Hikmet Hajiyev, in an interview with Berliner Zeitung, mentioned that Armenia is focused on resolving regional conflicts by constructing regional infrastructure. The opening of the Yerevan-Partovarkhutun route is seen as necessary for Armenia. Armenuhi Grigoryan highlighted the importance of establishing peaceful and safe conditions for communication in order to uphold the sovereignty and equality principles of the country.

Responding to questions about what Pashinyan has noticed, Grigoryan stated that the closure of communication has led to more negotiations on implementing the “Game of Peace” principles. Armenia is expecting Azerbaijan to reaffirm their commitment to these principles. The Security Council of Armenia expressed their readiness to participate in negotiations during the meeting of heads of state and government of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington in January.

The President of Azerbaijan’s deputy mentioned that there are some unresolved issues in the text of the peace agreement. Grigoryan explained that Armenia also proposes conducting technical negotiations to clarify these issues based on the peace agreement. They hope to reach an agreement and continue working on these matters.

Armenia is prepared to participate in the negotiations in Washington and is waiting for the response from foreign partners. Azerbaijan has repeatedly offered to remove border checks and control the ceasefire based on the peace agreement. Armenia suggests establishing a humanitarian corridor based on maps from 1974-78 to facilitate the peace process. The negotiations continue, and there is hope for further progress.
