“Peace Agreement Progresses but Unresolved Issues Linger: Insights from Adhanjan Observer on Armenia-Azerbaijan Talks”

In the text of the peace agreement, significant progress has been made, but several unresolved issues remain. According to an interview with Hikmet Hajiyev, an external political observer from Adhanjan, who spoke to the Berliner Zeitung, he provided assistance in the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“It is still difficult to talk about concrete deadlines as there needs to be continuous dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan to finalize the process,” he said.

Hajiyev also mentioned that the official meeting between the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia in Saint Petersburg was positive.

Regarding the “Kharabakh Arch” project submitted by Armenia, Hikmet Hajiyev believes that it is an attempt by Armenia to distance itself from the obligations specified in the 2020 declaration.

He is concerned that Armenia is continuing to undermine the opening of communication in the region, and he believes that the project itself contradicts the initiative to promote communication consolidation in the region.

“Yerevan is obligated to fulfill its obligations,” he said, expressing concern about Armenia’s recent statement expressing readiness to facilitate this route.
