According to NHK, the devastating earthquake in Ishikawa Prefecture has tragically claimed the lives of at least 48 individuals. This disaster, however, has not been isolated to Ishikawa alone, as neighboring prefectures such as Niigata, Fukui, Toyama, and Gifu have also reported casualties. The severity of this event cannot be ignored, especially considering the recent surge in seismic activity across Japan which prompted the national meteorological agency to issue an alert. In fact, since the beginning of this year, the country has already experienced over 30 earthquakes with a magnitude exceeding 7.6.
