“Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Urges Restraint as Armenian-Russian Relations Face Military Tension”

The situation in Armenian-Russian relations is characterized by strong military tension, but it is important not to escalate the situation further and not to resort to emotions, according to Sergey Kopirkin, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister. He emphasized the need to consider the interests of both peoples and to express personal opinions honestly, even if they may contain inaccuracies. Kopirkin acknowledged that the situation is not easy, with deep-rooted contradictions and economic, political, and fraternal ties. He highlighted the influence of the human factor in conflicting opinions and stressed the importance of not exacerbating the already complicated situation between the two countries.

In a decision made by the Armenian National Television and Radio Commission, the broadcasting of Sputnik Armenia radio station has been suspended for 30 days and a fine has been imposed on the company “Tospa” radio for retransmission services. The decision is a result of provocative and disrespectful views expressed towards the government and people of Armenia in the program “Friday with Tigran Keosayan” on November 17, 2023. The commission also cited the publication of unverified information in a previous article by Arman Abovian’s “Abovian Time” news agency.

Kopirkin believes that finding a solution becomes challenging when emotions are not calmed down. He pointed out that the human factor plays a significant role in these situations, both as an advantage and a potential cause for emotional tensions. He also highlighted the need to prevent any attempts to introduce additional difficulties in the relations between the two countries. Kopirkin concluded that avoiding the escalation of complications is crucial in order to preserve the existing fragile situation.

Overall, the situation in Armenian-Russian relations remains delicate and requires careful handling. Both countries must prioritize the interests of their peoples and strive for dialogue that is devoid of provocative and disrespectful views. While acknowledging the deep-rooted contradictions and the influence of the human factor, it is essential to find ways to calm emotions and prevent further complications. By doing so, both Armenia and Russia can work towards improving their relations and fostering a more stable and productive partnership.
