Revitalization of Jermuk Resort on Hold: Construction Work and Transportation Temporarily Suspended until 2024

Construction work on the revitalization of the Jermuk Resort in Armenia’s Lake Sevan region will be temporarily suspended until February 15, 2024. This includes the transportation of construction materials, equipment, and the relocation of workers. To ensure smooth traffic flow, the “Highway Development Alliance” has proposed a temporary traffic scheme in coordination with the RA State Road Committee.

The Jermuk Resort project aims to rejuvenate and enhance the appeal of the resort area in the Lake Sevan region. The resort is a popular tourist destination, known for its natural beauty and therapeutic waters. By suspending construction work temporarily, the project organizers are prioritizing the safety and convenience of commuters, as well as minimizing disruptions to the overall transportation network.

The decision to suspend construction work until February 15, 2024, was made by the Ministry of Transport, Communication, and Information Technologies. During this period, the transportation of construction materials and equipment will be halted, as well as the relocation of workers using buses on the M-6, Vayots Dzor-Alaverdi-Georgia, and H-35 (M-6)-Jermuk-Armenia-Iran (H-24) highways.

To facilitate traffic management and avoid inconvenience, the “Highway Development Alliance” has proposed a temporary traffic scheme. This scheme has been agreed upon by the RA State Road Committee to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles and minimize disruptions in the affected area.

The Jermuk Resort project holds great significance for the development and growth of tourism in Armenia. The revitalization of the resort will contribute to the local economy and create new job opportunities. By temporarily suspending construction work, project organizers are demonstrating their commitment to meeting the needs of both the local community and visitors to the area.
