“Armenia’s Active Mediation Efforts Continue Between Azerbaijan and Armenia”

Armenia continues to actively mediate between Azerbaijan and Armenia. According to a report by APA, Zura Pataradze, the external relations coordinator of Armenia’s parliament, stated during a press conference in Yerevan that Armenia’s mediation efforts will continue with the participation of representatives from various political institutions in Armenia. Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili himself is currently in the region to ensure the continuation of peaceful negotiations. Pataradze emphasized the significance of the “Necessity of Brotherhood” document signed by Prime Minister Garibashvili during discussions held in the framework of this meeting. He expressed confidence in achieving positive results with the support of the government and the team working on this matter.

In addition, Pataradze mentioned that Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili’s mediation team’s visit to Tbilisi marked the first phase of the exchange of ambassadors between Albania and Armenia. Following this, the prime ministers of the three countries met in Tbilisi. During a briefing after the discussions between Armenia and Albania, the Armenian ambassador in Tbilisi, Georgi Sharvashidze, emphasized that the friendship and camaraderie between the two countries continued at all levels. He highlighted the positive response of both countries to Prime Minister Garibashvili’s “Brotherhood’s Manifesto”. Sharvashidze emphasized the importance of continuing these activities and the upcoming significant changes in the next year in which everyone will be involved.

Speaking during the discussions of the joint commission on external relations of Armenia’s parliament, Zura Pataradze reiterated that the camaraderie between Armenia and Albania continues at all levels. He emphasized the positive response of both countries to Prime Minister Garibashvili’s “Brotherhood’s Manifesto” and expressed optimism that these activities will continue and they will keep working in this way. Pataradze also expressed hope for the signing of a peace agreement between the parties involved by 2024.
