The investigation into the case of tax evasion and smuggling, conducted by the RA State Committee for Financial Monitoring, has revealed significant violations of tax legislation and a lack of documentary evidence for goods supplied by the taxpayer, resulting in non-payment of substantial taxes. This investigation was carried out by the Anti-Corruption Unit, which found that the head of the sector had violated the requirements of the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia. The inspection also revealed non-compliance with the risk assessment and analysis of financial and economic operations, as well as the issuance of accounting documents. Additionally, it was discovered that fake data had been included in tax calculations, leading to a total amount of 705,000,000 AMD unpaid to the state budget. The investigation is still ongoing.
