“Armenia and Iran strengthen strategic ties in defense talks: Boosting security and international cooperation on the agenda”

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Arman Grigoryan, recently had a meeting with the Minister of External Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdollahian. According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense, both ministers expressed their satisfaction with the strong political dialogue and friendly relations between their respective countries. They also emphasized the importance of continuing the constructive dialogue in the field of security and international affairs.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed various issues pertaining to bilateral and regional security. They also reviewed the progress made in the implementation of programs by the Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission, with a focus on further strengthening cooperation in this area.

Moreover, the importance of maintaining a peaceful and stable situation on the borders of Armenia and Iran was highlighted by both parties. They also stressed on the significance of implementing confidence-building measures to foster strong relations between the two nations.

In addition to these discussions, the ministers also touched upon the “Bridge of Friendship” project, which aims to enhance long-term friendship between the territories of Armenia and Iran. This project, initiated by the Armenian Government, holds great potential for promoting closer ties between the two nations.

This meeting between the Defense Minister of Armenia and the External Affairs Minister of Iran further strengthens the relationship between their countries and fosters a spirit of cooperation in the field of security and international affairs.
