“Food Safety Inspections in Amenia Reveal Disturbing Violations Ahead of the New Year Holidays”

Food Safety inspectors in Amenia have been conducting inspections at various food establishments in preparation for the upcoming New Year holidays. Over the past 12 days, a total of 247 inspections have been carried out across the republic. Unfortunately, the scope of violations remains consistent, with the most common violations found in the hygiene standards of meat. It is concerning to note that the hygiene of meat is not being maintained according to the required 5th category, and harmful bacteria have been discovered on some meat products. Additionally, there have been instances where meat sold did not meet the necessary hygiene standards.

In a positive note, the inspections revealed that the remaining and canned fish products were properly labeled with informative labels. However, those responsible for violations will face administrative penalties. Non-compliant meat will either be confiscated or destroyed to ensure public safety. To aid in the process, personnel from the RA Police agencies have been assisting the State Food Safety Service in ensuring the proper transportation of compliant meat that meets all the necessary regulations.

Comparing the results of the inspections to the same period last year, it is disheartening to discover that the incidence of meat violations has increased. On average, there have been 3-5 times more violations reported. As concerned citizens, it is crucial to recognize the importance of food safety. When purchasing meat, please ensure that it is accompanied by a valid veterinary certificate confirming its safety. Additionally, meat should be labeled with the 5th category stamp, which should correspond to the serial number on the meat and the veterinary certificate. Likewise, sliced and canned meat products should feature informative labels that match the serial number of the meat and the veterinary certificate.

Food safety is of utmost importance, especially during festive periods. By adhering to these regulations and being vigilant consumers, we can ensure the well-being of ourselves and our loved ones. Let’s prioritize food safety and enjoy a healthy and happy holiday season. Stay informed, stay safe!
