Prime Minister of Armenia, Anna Hakobyan, participated in a memorial ceremony for fallen soldier Taron Andreyasyan on December 25th. Taron Andreyasyan gained public attention through a video that showed him being tortured during the war and ultimately killed by Azerbaijani soldiers. The ceremony, held in the village of Mkhchyan, was a tribute to the fallen soldiers and civilians and included the opening of a memorial dedicated to Andreyasyan. Prime Minister Hakobyan paid her respects by placing flowers near the memorial and the home of Andreyasyan. She also had a private meeting with his family.

Taron Andreyasyan, who was 27 years old during the 44-day war, had lived in Russia for approximately five years prior to returning to Armenia and being conscripted. He had plans to further his education after completing his military service and was a talented martial artist. Today, Prime Minister Hakobyan celebrated his birthday by posting a message on her Facebook page, paying tribute to Andreyasyan and commemorating his 30th anniversary.
