On December 26, at 18:08, the emergency rescue and management center of Kotayk province in Armenia received a distress call on the Yerevan-Sevan highway near the Shangri-La casino. The call reported a hostage situation involving an individual, who was later confirmed to be a hostage by the National Security Service (NSS). In response to the distress call, the NSS rescue service was promptly dispatched to the scene.

Thanks to the combined efforts of the NSS and the Rescue Service of the Yerevan Municipality, the situation was successfully resolved. The coordinated teamwork of these two organizations proved crucial in ensuring a safe resolution to the hostage situation.

The vehicles involved in the incident were identified as a Toyota, driven by S. B. (born in 1983), and a Lada, driven by A. H. (born in 1982). These vehicles became the center of attention as the rescuers worked to extract the hostage.

With their expertise and swift actions, the rescuers were able to safely remove the hostage from the car. They subsequently transferred the hostage to another vehicle, ensuring their well-being throughout the process.
