The mayor of Yerevan recently addressed the Chief of Staff of the Municipality of Yerevan regarding the calculation and collection of taxes and revenues. During a meeting on December 26, the mayor posed a question to a member of the “Mother Armenia” faction, relating to the amount and duration of construction permits and whether they had been coordinated with management. The mayor highlighted the case of Vahan Kerobyan, a candidate for Yerevan City Hall, who claimed that the City Hall had exerted influence in the construction industry. The Chief of Staff mentioned the laws governing fees and stated that discussions on this issue with developers will take place in January. The mayor emphasized the importance of balanced decisions and compared fees in neighboring countries, noting the need for potential changes in Yerevan’s fees.
