“A Majestic Affair: Russian President Vladimir Putin Explores the Splendors of Tsarskoye Selo Palace-Museum”

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently visited the Tsarskoye Selo Palace-Museum, where he engaged in discussions with the heads of state from various CIS member countries. This former summer residence of the Russian tsars has now been entrusted to the Ministry of Culture and the Museum Board of the Tsarskoye Selo State Museum-Preserve. A remarkable addition to the palace grounds is the construction of a magnificent concert hall, which will not only serve as a venue for international events but also accommodate a large number of guests. Moreover, the palace boasts a splendid ballroom adorned with precious stones, gold stars, and symbols of religious significance. One of the highlights of the palace is an exquisite crystal chandelier that serves as a focal point of its artistic allure.

Following a brief introduction, President Putin and the other leaders departed from the palace to explore an exhibition of art objects. Organized by the palace, this exhibition showcases various items spanning different historical periods. Among the fascinating objects are ancient jewelry pieces, confectionery delights, and souvenirs presented by antique dealers. Additionally, artisans adorned in attire reflecting the Tikhvin icon, archbishop’s robes, and the uniform worn by Peter the Great during the era of Alexander I, greeted the guests in a joyful and playful manner.

After this engaging presentation, President Putin and his colleagues proceeded to visit one of the most popular museums in the country. In the previous year alone, the Tsarskoye Selo Museum welcomed an astounding 2.9 million visitors. The museum’s Catherine Palace, known for its opulent Satin Room, holds a legendary status. After the museum tour, the guests will be treated to a tea gathering, where they will have the opportunity to meet members of the public and enjoy a captivating folk dance performance.

Spanning over 300 hectares, the Ekaterininsky and Alexander parks encompass not only the Ekaterininsky and Alexander palaces but also more than a hundred architecturally stunning buildings. These include pavilions, cottages, marble fencing, and ecotectonic structures that meticulously recreate various historical periods. The preservation and maintenance of these structures are of utmost importance to safeguard Russia’s rich heritage.
