Armenian Government’s Budget for 2024: 78% Allocated for Current Expenditures, 22% for Capital Investments

The Armenian government has revealed its budget for 2024, with a significant portion allocated for current expenditures. Approximately 78% or 2 trillion 511 billion drams has been set aside for various expenses, including benefits and subsidies, government debt servicing, and payment of salaries. According to the Ministry of Finance, the remaining 22% will be allocated towards capital expenditures such as construction, infrastructure development, and procurement and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. The government’s plan is to allocate specific amounts for each category, with 27.4 drams out of every 1000 drams going towards benefits and subsidies, 10.1 drams for debt servicing, and 7.5 drams for salary payments by 2024.
