“Escalating India-China Dispute Rattles Top Officials in Vivo’s Indian Subsidiary Division”

The dispute between India and China regarding financial transactions has intensified, leading to conflict between high-ranking officials involved in the division of Vivo, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer’s Indian subsidiary, according to sources familiar with the matter. The conflict first arose two months ago when four executives, including a Chinese national, were found to be involved in irregularities related to the allocation of funds for bonuses. India’s confrontation with Chinese businesses and investments has intensified since a deadly border clash in 2020.

“We are not satisfied with the current actions of the governing body,” expressed a representative of the Chinese company. “These recent conflicts indicate a systemic problem and create uncertainty within the organization. We are committed to using all legal means to rectify these irregularities and resolve the conflict.”

On Saturday, the executives involved in the conflict were brought to the Delhi court, and a written communication regarding the dispute was sent to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for further action.
