“Roadblocks and Closures: Navigating the Winter Terrain in Armenia”

The rescue service has informed that there are currently closed roads in the Republic of Armenia. Specifically, the “Amberd” high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn province is closed from the village of Amberd to the Amberd fortress, as well as the road leading to Lake Qari from Kar lake. In addition, sections of the road leading to Jermuk city in the Vayots Dzor province, namely Tatever-Ltsen, Goris-Sisian, and Sisian-“Zangers,” are locally impassable.

The situation is different, however, for the Larsi border checkpoint in Georgia and the Russian Armed Forces’ Joint Command Center in Gyumri. According to the National Crisis Management Center of the RA MoD and the Central Office of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation, the Stepanakert-Larsi road is open for all types of transport.

Given the current winter conditions, drivers are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution while traveling. Safety should be the top priority to avoid any potential accidents or inconveniences.
