“Prime Minister’s Security Forces Detain Person with Suspicious Package in Yerevan – Potential Pipe Bomb Seized”

On December 20, at 14:40, a person was detained in Yerevan by the employees of the Department of Security of the State Commission for the Protection of the Constitutional Order of the Republic of Armenia. This department operates under the Prime Minister’s office and carries out its duties in accordance with established procedures and regulations. The basis for the arrest was a report submitted by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

The report indicated that a suspicious package, resembling a pipe bomb and containing explosive material, had been discovered and confiscated. To handle the situation, the employees of the “Vanadzor” penitentiary institution collaborated with the security department.
