“General Motors Halts Production of Iconic Chevrolet Camaro Coupe as Demand Declines”

General Motors has halted production of the Chevrolet Camaro coupe, one of its most popular cars, as reported by Drom.ru. Last week, the latest Camaro was unveiled, featuring the powerful ZL1 model with a 650 horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine and a supercharger taken from the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The decline in demand for this model is the main reason behind the production halt. This particular coupe was manufactured in a section of the factory in Lansing, Michigan, that was primarily focused on producing deer skin. Consequently, the entire production program of the factory will be shut down since it was GM’s only small business unit producing cars on the GM ALFA platform. Notably, all current Cadillac luxury cars are also based on this platform. In the event that the production department is not closed entirely, it will undergo restructuring to cater to the production of electric vehicles.
