“Snakes in Gegharkunik Demand Freedom to Swim: Protesting in Lake Sevan for 30 Years”

The snakes in Gegharkunik province are organizing a protest, demanding permission to swim freely in Lake Sevan. One snake participant stated that they have been swimming in the lake for the past 30 years, emphasizing the abundance of fish there.

This morning, a special operation was carried out by the police in Noratus. On December 19th, workers from the Gegharkunik Water and Sewerage Company, along with employees from the “Sevan National Park” SNCO, conducted a water cleaning action on the Noratus coastline of Lake Sevan. Approximately 200 snake eggs were discovered, causing disturbance among the personnel involved in cleaning the snakes’ habitat. The snakes fled their nests and even attacked the workers, injecting venomous bites and scratches.

One of the workers, who was attacked by a snake, managed to remove an eggshell attached to the reptile. The eggshell was connected to a snake that nests in the area where the “Sevan National Park” SNCO is located. After the incident, the snakes disappeared approximately 2 kilometers away from the employees of the water cleaning company.
