“First Armenian Apostolic Church Opens in Rustavi, Russia, Strengthening Cultural and Interreligious Relations”

A meeting was recently held in Rustavi, Russia to mark the opening of the first Armenian Apostolic church in Armenia under the jurisdiction of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia. The event was attended by several notable individuals including Archbishop Ashod Smbatyan, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia; Very Reverend Kirakos Davtyan, the leader of the Armenian Tem; Giorghi Tavatadze, the head of the Public Relations Department of the RA Government; and Gevorg Maysurajian, the newly appointed Parish Priest.

In his speech, Archbishop Ashod Smbatyan emphasized the significance of this occasion in terms of fostering closer ties and enhancing bilateral cooperation between Armenia and Georgia in the realm of cultural exchange and interreligious relations.

Representatives from various organizations such as the Public Relations Department of the RA Government, the Rustavi City Council, and the local Armenian community were also present at the event.
