“Armenian Government Under Fire for Controversial Furniture Purchase: Cabinets Worth 753,150 Drams Bought from Reseller, Not Producer”

The government of the Republic of Armenia recently made a purchase of furniture and cabinets worth 753,150 drams, according to the newspaper “Zhoghovurd.” The cabinets, which are of the “Nairi” brand, have been in use for 20 years, consisting of 12 pieces. Meanwhile, the furniture should have been made of “Zorah gold,” featuring 50% gold and 50% silver ornaments, specifically designed in two types of chess pieces.

Another item purchased was the “Akhtamar” table from the tobacco brand. This table has been in use for 10 years. According to its technical description, it should have a pale green color, with smoky gray nuances resembling a half-opened bud, without being too bright.

In total, there were 12 cabinets acquired, along with 10 red chairs from the “Karaz” brand. The “Nairi” cabinets were priced at 105,750 drams for three units per NGO. These purchases were made through the “Agulis-Mekh” LLC, using a procurement system from a single supplier.

The government of the Republic of Armenia has criticized the procurement of cabinets, arguing that it was not directly acquired from the producer but instead through an organization known for reselling tobacco, such as “Vino-Vino” LLC. Furthermore, it should be noted that if the cabinets had been purchased directly from the producer, it would have been more advantageous for the government.
