“UNRWA Declaration: Gaza Infrastructure Devastated and Over 90% Forced from Homes; ICRC Raises Concerns over Healthcare Crisis”

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has revealed that more than 60% of Gaza’s infrastructure has been destroyed or damaged, as stated by Al Jazeera. The alarming news also includes the fact that over 90% of Gaza’s population has been displaced and forced to leave their homes. This level of displacement and destruction is unprecedented and deeply concerning, according to UNRWA. Miryana Spoljaric, the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), recently visited Gaza and witnessed a disturbing breakdown in essential services such as healthcare and safety. Medical staff and surgeons on the ground face significant challenges in accessing resources and assisting the overwhelming number of patients. Shortages of medicines, light, and water further aggravate the situation, with surgical capacity also diminishing in the face of the high number of casualties and wounded individuals.
