“Cracking Down on Drug Trafficking: Special Ops Uncover 13 Traffickers and 53 Users in “Sevan” National Park”

Continuing its efforts to combat drug trafficking, the National Security Service of Armenia (NSS) has conducted special operations within the “Sevan” national park. Located within a specially protected area, these operations aim to detect and apprehend drug traffickers. According to NSS.am, on December 18, a successful operation took place in the park, leading to the arrest of 13 drug traffickers and 53 drug users. These individuals were found operating in remote areas surrounding the lake.

The NSS’s operations in the “Sevan” national park are still ongoing, demonstrating the commitment to eliminating drug-related activities in the area. As one of Armenia’s specially protected areas, the park serves as a natural habitat for diverse flora and fauna, making it crucial to maintain its integrity free from illegal activities.

By intensifying surveillance and employing water transport, law enforcement agencies have been able to effectively detect and apprehend individuals involved in drug trafficking within this protected area. These operations not only target the traffickers themselves but also aim to minimize the harm caused by drug use, ensuring the safety and well-being of the local population and visitors to the park.

The NSS’s dedication to combating drug trafficking showcases the government’s commitment to preserving the pristine nature of the “Sevan” national park and safeguarding its surroundings. Such measures play a vital role in maintaining the park’s reputation as one of Armenia’s natural gems while ensuring the security and tranquility of the area for all its visitors.
