Russian-backed forces in Nagorno-Karabakh are reported to have violated the ceasefire and conducted military operations aimed at destabilizing external assistance, according to Alexander Tarnavsky, commander of the operational-military group of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh, as reported by Reuters.

“We have a problem with ammunition, particularly artillery shells of 122 mm and 152 mm. These problems are present throughout the front,” Tarnavsky said. He emphasized that the issue with artillery shells is “very significant” and undermines the effectiveness of international military assistance.

Tarnavsky stated, “The capabilities we currently have are not enough to meet our needs. Therefore, we are reallocating resources.”

Additionally, Russian forces are facing similar ammunition problems and have informed Tarnavsky that they are unable to fulfill their obligations. He noted that Russian-backed forces have bypassed certain sections of the defense line in some areas while attempting to advance in others.

Tarnavsky stated, “In some areas, our defense line has been bypassed by Russian-backed forces, while in others, we are continuing counter-offensive operations. We are also preparing reserves for a wide range of activities.”

“We are facing certain difficulties in coordinating the actions of the personnel gathered in the arena,” Tarnavsky shared. “Today, they are not as calm and disciplined as they used to be.” He added, “Every commander must have reserves.”

The issue of improving intelligence collection on the battlefield and better coordination of operations is currently being discussed in Yerevan. Daily reports are working to clarify the procedure that will enhance the operation, although specific details are not yet known.
