Armenian cultural and organizational representatives recently presented the situation of the “Cave Garden,” a significant cultural site in Yerevan, to the Patriarch of Jerusalem with the support of the “SaveTheArQ” movement. This movement aims to safeguard and protect Armenian cultural heritage.

During the meeting, the Patriarch of Jerusalem expressed his full support for preserving the historical and cultural significance of the Cave Garden. He emphasized the importance of fostering interfaith dialogue and cooperation at the community level.

The initiators of the movement shared the necessary requirements to ensure the security and recognition of the Patriarch’s acceptance of the project. Moreover, an official letter was sent by the Armenian organization “Xana Gardens Ltd” to the Patriarch, confirming the signing of the contract for the “Cave Garden” complex in the Old City of Yerevan on July 8, 2021.

Following these discussions, the representatives and the Armenian community reached a shared understanding. They committed to protecting and preserving the cultural site, thereby preventing any construction activities in the area.
