“Armenia Claims Occupied Territories Are ‘Actually Armenian’ – The Battle for Borders Continues”

Armenia recently made an announcement regarding the territories it occupied from Azerbaijan between 2020 and 2022. According to their maps, these territories are considered Armenian. Tigran Abrahamyan, the leader of the “I am a soldier” movement, shared his thoughts about this on his Facebook page. He pointed out that these maps are merely imaginary and should not be considered as representing Armenia’s stance. This is not a new approach from Azerbaijan, but it highlights the problems that have arisen during the process of demarcating and delimiting borders, making it challenging to reach a peaceful resolution. Whether or not a “Declaration of Truce” will be signed, the question of accurately determining boundaries remains uncertain, as Abrahamyan stated.

The Armenian representation has also expressed its views on solving the demarcation issues by indicating that at some point, Armenia might relinquish certain territories in exchange for new ones from the Republic of Armenia. “The news originates from Armenia,” signaling that they are actively involved in resolving these border disputes.
