Turkish Foreign Minister Urges US Counterpart to Intervene in Israel’s Actions in Gaza and West Bank

Turkey’s Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, has urged his American counterpart, Anthony Blinken, to use his influence on Washington to halt Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, according to Turkish diplomatic sources cited by Reuters.

Cavusoglu conveyed to Blinken that the situation in Israel is deteriorating due to Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. He emphasized the need for Israel to be compelled to stop escalating tensions and resume discussions about the two-state solution at the negotiating table, the sources stated.

During their discussion, the two diplomats also addressed Sweden’s appeal to the OSCE, which is currently pending Turkey’s approval, as well as Ankara’s request for the United States to sell F-16 fighters.
