“Snow blankets multiple regions in Armenia, road alert issued while Dilijan faces heavy rainfall”

On December 17 at 16:35, snowfall began in several regions of Armenia including Chambarak, Talin, Artik, Ani, Aparan, Aragats, Spitak, Aghuryan, Ashotsk, and Sevan. However, in Dilijan, it was raining. In response, the Department of Emergency Situations issued a road alert for the country.

In Dilijan, there is currently a moderate snowfall, impacting visibility which is limited to 100-150 meters. Despite this, all interstate and republican roads remain open.

Road maintenance authorities are diligently working to clean and de-ice the roads in order to ensure safe driving conditions for all.

Drivers are strongly advised to exercise caution and use winter tires to prevent accidents, traffic congestion, and sliding. It is important to prioritize safety on the roads during this time.
