“Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Expresses Willingness for Dialogue with Armenian Opposition Amidst Tense Bilateral Relations”

Russia, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, is committed to keeping the doors of dialogue open and not obstructing negotiations, even with opposition representatives, unlike the situation in Armenia. Galuzin expressed readiness for the heads of opposing parties from both countries to meet in the near future. He emphasized that negotiations will continue, pointing to the recent meeting in Sochi as an example. Galuzin believes that an active dialogue is essential for addressing and resolving existing problems, and he expressed confidence in the success of this phase of the two countries’ relations.

In recent months, the Armenian-Russian bilateral relations have been characterized by tension, as described by experts. Due to the actions of its current leader, Armenia has refrained from participating in CSTO meetings and distanced itself from the organization. This situation has occasionally led to mutual accusations and provocations.
