Over 500 individuals sustained injuries in an explosion that rocked the metro trains in Beijing on Friday. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, according to the city’s transportation department. A report posted on the website of the state news agency disclosed that 515 people sought medical treatment, with 102 injuries documented. The incident, which took place between the Xierqi and Shengming Science Academy stations, occurred at 18:57 local time (13:57 Moscow time) as revealed on the Weibo social networking site. Initial investigations have signaled that gas pipeline rupture caused the explosion, leading to significant damage to the train. Regrettably, passengers were unable to evacuate at that time, resulting in widespread panic. Presently, 67 injured victims remain hospitalized, while the remainder have been discharged.
