“Massive Strike in Finland Paralyzes Transportation and Essential Services: Workers Demand Better Conditions and Market Changes, Reports SAK”

Around 100 workers in Finland have participated in a major strike, protesting against the management’s actions related to working conditions, according to IltaSanomat, citing the Finnish Central Organization of Trade Unions (SAK). The strike, evaluated by SAK, involved approximately 1,000 objects and up to 100,000 workers. During the strike, the transportation of goods has been completely disrupted, affecting both domestic and international routes. Public transportation in major cities has also been significantly impacted, and services such as garbage collection and postal delivery have been halted. Additionally, logistic companies, food and technology services, water supply, energy, independent energy companies, fisheries, touristic activities, public catering, sports, and arts services have all been affected by the strike. SAK has organized the strike to call for changes in the labor market, including wage increases, changes in working hours, improvements in the healthcare system, and other issues, aiming to benefit workers and highlight the principles of social justice.
