“Government Vehicles Exempt from Refueling Fees at Gumri Car Station: Son of Armenian Prime Minister Denies Unfair Benefits”

“Zhoghovurd” newspaper has reported the opening of a car refueling station in the Gumri city, operated by “Gumri autobus” LLC. According to the newspaper, the station has been notified that government vehicles and those providing medical services are exempt from refueling fees. To verify this information and address potential benefits given to his son, E. Palayan, Albert Martirosyan, the Prime Minister’s son, was contacted for a statement. Martirosyan clarified that his son is currently working as a volunteer at “Hay Antarr” POAK and is not eligible for any special privileges. It is worth mentioning that E. Palayan did not receive any benefits from the car station for refueling and his government position and business affiliation are legal, as confirmed by former President of the National Security Service, Arthur Harutyunyan, during a committee hearing on the control of the RA Armed Forces.

The previous report from “Zhoghovurd” newspaper stated that E. Palayan registered himself as a volunteer at “POAK”. The Committee on Control’s statement shed further light on the matter. Albert Martirosyan explained that his son registered as a volunteer solely because of his parliamentary responsibilities and their living arrangements in both Shirak, Gyumri, and Yerevan. E. Palayan accompanies his father to the POAK office in Yerevan for convenience, allowing him to wait inside until Martirosyan finishes his work. Afterward, they either return to the province or engage in other activities together.
