“Chairman of National Assembly Expresses Concern Over Unfair Publication Practices; Controversy Surrounds ‘Zhoghovurd’ Newspaper”

Arman Hovhannisyan, the chairman of the Standing Committee on Health of the National Assembly (NA), has expressed concern about how articles are being published in Armenia. He specifically highlighted the distribution and placement of newspapers, including “Zhoghovurd” and “Hraparak,” and other publications from the ZLM group. This announcement was made by the “Zhoghovurd” newspaper.

According to the announcement, the editor-in-chief of “Zhoghovurd” approached Arman Hovhannisyan in the parliament building, asking him to take the issue to court or the RA NA Ethics Committee to address what he believed to be an injustice. However, Arman Hovhannisyan stated that he did not have any conversation with him.

Reporters from “Zhoghovurd” newspaper have noted that Arman Hovhannisyan did not provide an explanation for the unfair, rude, and baseless comment he made about a prominent figure in the country.

“Zhoghovurd” newspaper has sought a response from Arman Hovhannisyan through legal means, by appealing to the court. It is also worth mentioning that media expert Davit Alaverdyan, the head of the Union of Journalists of Armenia, Sati Sekhyan, and others have urged Arman Hovhannisyan to apologize and provide an explanation based on facts and evidence, without distorting the truth or spreading misinformation originating from “Zhoghovurd” newspaper.
