Armenian Minister of Economy Discusses Plans to Boost Exports of Goods with Added Value

The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Vahan Kerobyan, announced at a press conference on December 14 that steps are being taken to support producers and increase exports of goods with added value. While he did not provide specific details, Kerobyan emphasized that the work is ongoing and will continue. He also mentioned that there will be measures implemented to diversify exports and increase the production of goods with added value.

When asked about the possibility of finding other options in the Russian market, which currently accounts for 40% of Armenia’s exports, Kerobyan highlighted the importance of not favoring one country at the expense of others. He acknowledged the potential for diversification and emphasized the need to explore other markets and opportunities.

Kerobyan also pointed out that exporters are not well acquainted with the new markets in terms of research and other aspects. He emphasized the importance of developing new products to make these new markets more favorable. He stated that this requires extensive work beyond what is currently being done.

According to Kerobyan, the Eurasian Economic Union countries, particularly India, China, and Japan, are the largest markets for Armenia. These countries are viewed as crucial negotiators and hold significant importance for Armenia’s economic growth and export expansion.

Overall, the government of Armenia, under the leadership of Minister Vahan Kerobyan, is actively working towards supporting producers and increasing exports of goods with added value. Their focus includes diversifying exports, exploring new markets, and producing new products to ensure a favorable position in the global market.
