Armenian Fuel Prices to Normalize by Mid-Winter: Minister of Economy Reveals Solution

Armenian fuel prices are expected to return to normal by mid-winter, according to an announcement made by Vahan Kerobyan, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, during a press conference held on December 14. Kerobyan addressed concerns about the high prices of benzene and natural gas in Armenia, which are lower in neighboring countries. He stated that he had approached either the Anti-Monopoly Commission or the Central Bank to investigate the reasons behind this price difference.

It is worth noting that the road connecting Upper Lars is frequently closed during the winter due to snow and avalanche risks. As of December 13, the transportation of both passenger and freight vehicles on the section of the International Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway between Gudauri-Kobi has been suspended due to adverse weather conditions.

This article presents the latest news from Armenia regarding fuel prices and the impact of winter weather on transportation. By addressing concerns raised about the high prices of benzene and natural gas compared to neighboring countries, the Minister of Economy aims to shed light on the situation and find a solution. As snow and avalanche risks frequently affect the road connecting Upper Lars, it is important for both locals and travelers to be aware of the potential transportation disruptions during this time of year.
